Squall "Leon" Leonheart is one of the many Final Fantasy characters encountered in Kingdom Hearts II ½ and Kingdom Hearts: Alliance of Light.

An enigmatic warrior, Leon serves as the default leader of the Final Fantasy characters in Radiant Garden. He is a powerful fighter who wields a weapon called a "Gunblade". He took on the alias "Leon" to distance himself from his past, in which he was unable to stop the invading Heartless.
Story[]
Kingdom Hearts[]
Nine years before Kingdom Hearts, Maleficent plunged Radiant Garden into darkness, taking over the remaining castle and renaming it Hollow Bastion. Leon and the other Final Fantasy characters ended up in Traverse Town, where they encountered Sora, Donald and Goofy nine years later. Possessing important knowledge about the Heartless and the Keyblade, they explained to Sora what was going on. Later, he and his friends returned to Hollow Bastion.
Kingdom Hearts II[]
Leon, Yuffie, Aerith, Cid and Merlin are busy restoring Hollow Bastion when Sora, Donald and Goofy return. Fighting off multiple Heartless invasions, including one of thousands of them sent initially by Maleficent but then seized from her by Organization XIII and another caused by the Master Control Program in Ansem the Wise's computer, they later remember the world's real name, courtesy of Tron.
